Committed to the highest standards in everything we do, we are a young and vibrant health care organization providing access to three of the best community hospitals in the province.

Serving the growing communities of Milton, Oakville, Clarkson and Halton Hills, our hospitals are very much a part of Halton's rich history and have a long standing tradition of providing quality care to many generations of area families. Together, they serve over 200,000 residents.

A short distance to the north is the 85-bed Milton District Hospital, which has served residents of this rural community for more than 40 years. Just minutes north of the 401 in the Town of Halton Hills, Georgetown Hospital has served Georgetown and the surrounding communities since first opening its doors in 1961.

These facilities reflect Halton Healthcare Services' unwavering commitment to compassionate care, clinical excellence and patient satisfaction.

The Halton Healthcare Team
Our Mission - to provide quality, compassionate care and services to meet the needs of our population in a timely and effective manner - grows out of the rich history and commitment to care instilled by the individuals working at our two hospital sites.

You won't find a more qualified, caring health care team anywhere - people who are genuinely interested in you and your wellbeing. From the physicians and nurses who provide bedside care to the housekeepers who clean the rooms, our team believes that a caring hand and a caring heart are fundamentals of care.

Supported by over 1,000 employees, 1,000 volunteers and 400 physicians, Halton Healthcare Services ensures a consistent, coordinated approach to patient care.

Poised For The Future
Situated in one of Canada's most desirable and fastest growing areas, Halton Healthcare Services is poised to keep pace with the explosive population growth in southwestern Ontario.

At OTMH, both the emergency department and ambulatory care facilities have recently been expanded. Plans are on the way to renovate and expand the diagnostic imaging and maternal/child care areas over the next five years.

In development is a Women's Health Centre designed to reduce waiting times for mammograms, bone density tests and ultrasounds for women living in the Halton region. The new centre is expected to perform an estimated 8,715 mammograms, 1,973 bone density tests and 21,125 ultrasound procedures annually. Construction will begin in the Fall 2000.

At our MDH site, planning is currently underway to expand the ambulatory care area and to renovate the obstetrics and day surgery facilities. Sixty percent of the hospital has been completely renovated over the years, and the latest addition was built only ten years ago offering a modern community hospital well-positioned to meet the needs of its rapidly growing population.

Recognizing the specialized needs of the elderly, Halton Healthcare Services will be developing 96 long term care beds in Halton Hills, and has worked to develop a a long term care/nursing home facility on property adjacent to OTMH.
