Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT)
HHS provides interested staff with an opportunity to join our Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT). The team is comprised of specially-trained physicians and Registered Nurses with expert support from respiratory therapists as needed and they take the skills, expertise and equipment of the ICU to the in-patient units of the hospital.
The goal of the CCOT is to stabilize and prevent poor clinical outcomes in patients who are admitted to our medical and surgical floors patients. The team works with professionals in all departments to identify patients who are at risk and to promote early recognition and treatment of clinical deterioration in patients admitted to medical and surgical wards at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. The CCOT empowers Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, Registered Respiratory Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Physicians with increased knowledge, skills and confidence to identify early warning signs and react with the appropriate intervention. The team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the Oakville Hospital site.
