    Located along a section of the Niagara Escarpment, the Town of Halton Hills includes many historic towns and villages, with unique attractions, events and historical significance. The Town of Halton Hills is made up of Acton, Ballinafad, Churchill (Hamlet), Georgetown, Glen Williams, Limehouse, Norval (Village of), Stewarttown and Terra Cotta. The Town of Halton Hills provides the perfect balance between urban and rural living. While the larger areas of Georgetown and Acton provide modern development the surrounding villages and hamlets that make up the town retain their rural charm. With a current population of 54,800, the Town's population is projected to reach 60,000 by 2011 and 70,000 by 2021.

    The Halton District School Board operates 11 elementary and two secondary schools while the Halton Catholic District School Board operates five elementary and one secondary school in Halton Hills. There are also more than 20 private schools in the Halton Region. Halton Hills residents are fortunate to have close access to some of the highest quality post secondary institutions in the country. Within a one-hour drive you have access to eight universities and eight technical colleges. McMaster University, located in nearby Hamilton, Ontario is one of Canada's top research universities providing easy access to the most up-to-date information in the field of health sciences.

    Residents of Halton Hills take pride in the quality of our schools, park lands and leisure and recreational facilities. With over 46 park sites to choose from residents of Halton Hills can enjoy a wide range of recreational activities. From hiking and cycling to bird watching and fishing there is an activity to suit everyone's preference. For the active golfer, Halton Hills has a number of private, semi-private and public golf courses to choose from. Halton Region is home to over 25 of the best courses in Southern Ontario including Glen Abbey Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus and previously home to the Bell Canadian Open.
