- Ensuring client-centred activities incorporate the principles of infection prevention.
- Providing infection control education and training to all staff, physicians and volunteers.
- Providing infection control education to individuals, patients and their families.
- Establishing policies and procedures that reflect the most current evidence-based best practices.
- Maintaining strong liason with community healthcare and public health agencies at the local, provincial and national level.
- Participating and supporting infection control as members of: Hamilton and Neightbouring District Infection Control (HANDIC); Community and Hospital Infection Control Association (CHICA); Toronto Practitioners in Infection Control (TPIC); Mississauga-Halton Regional Infection Control Network (MHICN).
