About Your Pre-Admission Clinic Appointment
The Pre-Admission Clinic at Halton Healthcare Services - Oakville Site provides services that will ensure you are prepared for your surgery. These services may include a consultation with a nurse, consult with an anesthetist, blood work or other tests, x-rays, consult with a pharmacist, etc.
To help make your appointment more effective for both you and your healthcare providers, please follow the instructions outlined below.
You may eat and drink normally on the day of your Pre-Admission Clinic appointment.
When you attend your Pre-Admission Clinic Appointment, please bring the following with you;
- Your Ontario Health Card, and your Hospital Green Card (if you have one)
- All the medications you are currently taking, or a listing of the names, dosages and times you take them
- Your Pre-Admission Clinic package and envelope given to you in your surgeon's office.
Please ensure the following forms from the package are completed prior to your Pre-Admission Clinic appointment:
The length of your Pre-Admission Clinic appointment depends on several factors, including; what healthcare providers you need to see at the clinic, your surgical procedure, and your overall health.
Although every effort will be made to complete your appointment promptly, some healthcare providers in the Clinic may need to care for patients that require emergency and urgent attention, these patients will be completed first and you may have to wait.
