Parking and Transportation
We strongly suggest that you leave your car at home if your stay at the hospital.
Halton Healthcare Services has ran automated Pay on Foot Parking system in most of the public parking lots. Parking patrons are asked to bring their parking ticket into the hospital with them. Parking fees may be paid inside the hospital at one of the pay stations with cash or credit cards. Daily, weekly and monthly parking passes that can be used at all three hospitals may be purchased at these machines.
Patients and visitors may pay for parking at any of the Pay Stations or upon exit with credit card if they choose or if they get to the gate and have forgotten to pay at the Pay Station.
The Maternal Child Parking lot at OTMH has a pay and display parking service. Patients and visitors parking in this lot are required to pay for parking at the Pay Station and display the paid ticket in your window.
Parking fees collected by the Hospital cover the cost of providing, maintaining and administering the parking facilities. Fees collected beyond these expenses are used to support the ongoing operating costs of the Hospital.
Designated Patient Drop-off and Pick-up Area
There are designated patient pick-up and drop-off areas at each hospital. As you prepare for your discharge from the hospital make sure you speak to your nurse about where your family can pick you up when you are discharged.
By the order of the Ontario Fire Code, parking is not permitted in the front circular driveway at our hospitals. Cars left in these areas may be ticketed by the Municipal Parking Services as they are designated Fire Routes.
Please obey all signage and ask staff or security for clarification.
Parking for the Disabled
Parking spaces for the disabled are available. These spaces require an Ontario Ministry of Transportation specific permit and must be visible.
Designated spaces for persons with a disability, rehabilitation patients and patients coming to the Heart Function Clinic at OTMH are identified in the main surface lot and in the parking garage. There are also some designated spaces at MDH by the front doors and the Rehab entrance and at GH in the Visitor’s parking lot and the Emergency parking lot.
