Georgetown Hospital Supportive Housing Program
The Supportive Housing Program provides essential support services to eligible seniors living in designated seniors apartment buildings in Georgetown. This unique program enables seniors to live independently - in comfort, safety and with dignity.
Through this flexible and client-centred program individuals are able to make decisions and take action to effectively improve their health and well being.
The program focuses on maintaining independent living by supporting those individuals who require assistance with personal care, homemaking, and connecting to community services.
Personal Support and Homemaking
This program assists residents with their personal care and activities of daily living. Personal Support Workers are on-site daily in the designated buildings to provide services, which may include but are not limited to assistance with:
- Bathing
- Dressing
- Meal preparation
- Medication reminders
- Light housekeeping
- Laundry
Services for eligible seniors are arranged by the Support Service Coordinator in the building.
The Supportive Housing Program is a free service funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and administered by Halton Healthcare Services.
